Hi, I’m Jenn Adams, a special education consultant who helps schools, districts, and intermediate units support their autistic support, life skills, and emotional support classrooms. I’ve spent nearly 20 years in these rooms, and I still love walking into a classroom that feels stuck and helping the team find a plan that works.
Sound familiar?
The para doesn’t know what to do. The new teacher is drowning by October. The IEP goals look fine on paper, but nobody’s sure the data means anything. The room has great materials and no system. And the calls to the office keep coming.
Those aren’t people problems. They’re system problems. And systems can be fixed. Most teams I work with don’t need more stuff. They need a clear plan for what they already have, and someone in the room to help put it in place.

What a special education consultant can do for your team
Every school is different, so as your special education consultant, I build support around what your classrooms actually need. Here’s where I help most.
Coaching and Mentoring
- Instructional coaching for special education teachers
- New teacher mentoring, so first-year teachers make it to June
- Veteran teacher support and training
- Paraprofessional and aide training, with a clear role for every adult in the room
Programs and Systems Support
- Classroom program setup, routines, and schedule redesign
- Classroom observations and consulting
- Behavior support and planning
- Professional development workshops for staff
Individualized Support
- IEP writing and data analysis support
- IEP compliance reviews
- Progress monitoring that actually changes instruction
- Curriculum and visual supports, including Unique Learning System, Wilson, and UFLI
- Tutoring and Wilson literacy instruction

How working with me works
- We talk. Email me and tell me what’s happening in your classrooms. I’ll ask a lot of questions so I understand your students, your staff, and your goals.
- I observe. I spend time in the room and watch the real day, from arrival to dismissal, so my recommendations fit your students and staff, not a textbook.
- We build the plan together. Routines, schedules, visuals, and coaching for teachers and paras, with follow-up so the changes actually stick.
I offer both virtual and in-person special education consultant support. I can work directly with your teachers, or train your coaches and specialists so they can carry the work forward in your buildings.
Why schools and districts work with me
As a special education consultant, I bring real classroom experience, not just theory.
I know what it feels like to be the teacher in that room. And I know what it feels like to be the coach trying to help. That’s why my support is practical, kind, and built to keep working long after I leave your building.

Questions directors ask me
Do you only work with autistic support classrooms?
No. Autistic support is where I spent a decade of my own teaching, but I also work with life skills and emotional support classrooms. The same things help in all of them: clear routines, adults who know their roles, and IEP goals that actually show up in the day.
Can you work with us virtually?
Yes. I offer virtual coaching, IEP and data reviews, and staff training, plus in-person observations and modeling when being in the room makes the biggest difference.
Can you train our own coaches or specialists?
Absolutely. Some teams want me working directly with teachers. Others want me to train their coaches, BCBAs, or specialists so the support keeps going between my visits. Either way works.
What does the first conversation look like?
You email me, and we set up a time to talk. You tell me what’s happening in your classrooms and what you’ve already tried. Then we figure out together whether a special education consultant is the right next step for your team.

Let’s talk about your classrooms
If your special education team is stuck, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Bringing in a special education consultant who’s been in the room can save your staff months of trial and error. Email me at [email protected] and we’ll set up a time to talk about what’s going on and what support could look like.
